Intent:
Period Style using historically accurate materials and
artifacts. At the exit, design an adjoining gateway
hallway to the Arts and Crafts period visually
connecting the two.
(concept only) The room contains a main floor and
mezzanine that is accessed by a lavish staircase. The
mezzanine level would contain the most rare and
expensive items. All finishes and materials in the
space would be true to the period. (ie. gold leaf, stained
glass, handmade wallpaper, custom iron work, richly
stained woodwork, dim lamp light...) In the center of
the room would sit a large, illuminated vase-like
structure where clients would be invited for a private
meeting to discuss an item or artifact.
To sell rare artifacts from the Art Noveau period,
displayed in ornate cases along the wall. Entrance to
the gallery would be by appointment only.
